There is no problem with people asking BMW mini questions, or Renault (mine) or VW (still mine), or Toyota (yup still me) in the appropriate sections because we are a friendly knowledgeable bunch on here and as mini owners we like to help each other.

However, if its a Bini question from a newbie with 1 post, rather than a regular member then they have probably found themselves on a site they hadn't intended to visit and its fine to point them politely in a direction thats more appropriate if the answer isn't immediately forthcoming. You should also remember that if you sign in from a mobile then it is less obvious that this is a classic mini site and not all of our new sign ups have English as a first language

So polite replies are fine or feel free to help if you can, thats why we all are here,

Without this turning into a bunfight we try and make it obvious when you join the Forum that we are a classic Mini forum and not the later BMW Mini forum, HOWEVER and this does seem to escape some members on here, a lot of our current membership own both.

So going on from there a polite and short reply directing them to more suitable forums is the correct way to go, but also to add that while we do cater predominantly for Classic minis some members do own both and maybe able to answer your question, however this may take a lot longer.

And we will not be having a sub section for BMW Minis. This has been discussed numerous times and the answer is still no.

mmmm. bunfight.
