4 rolls of 225mm x10m will do the entire car, doors, floor, boot rear quarters bulkhead, and add another if yu want to do the roof... Will cost about 14-15 quid a roll from Homebase, B&Q, Wicks etc etc etc

If you want to get a realy good fit ( ie no air pockets ) use a heat gun to gently soften it into place.. I've done two cars with it now and swear by it if you want a quiet car..

done behind the dash, front inner arches, footwells and part of the roof and only used 1 roll so far!!
1 more will finish roof and rear floor i reckon, then next weekend i'll do the boot and rear quarters.

The car is soooo much more driveable now, may actually consider a stereo, before hand it was too loud to even think about.

So are you using this tape to replace the spongey sound insulation under the carpet.

I only ask as mine are very good at holding water!!

need to sort all the rust holes and then i will use this stuff i think

yeah... when i rebuilt rusty, i didn't bother with any foam... or carpets.... this stuff is highly tacky black stuff with a metalic dull side (non stick) to resemble lead when used in building applications. i had painted the floor pan with Hammerite and undersealed the underside, then rolled the flashband out and cut it into useable strips (about 450 mm long) and applied it... i then cut some up smaller to fill in the gaps... the result is water proof, soundproof but sticky as hell.... i'll reapply the underseal every 6 months as i don't fancy ever trying to get the flash band off for welding!!!!!
