Trust me it saves a lots of fettling and messing about. You said you used a rebuild kit so all you need to do is strip.them down again.

Hi, contact AC about the price to get the spindle reamed the cost is nowhere near the one your quoted.

Ok thanks for the tip, if I'm still having issues after trying everything people have suggested then I'll drop AC a message.

Just take them apart and check everything critical like jet alignment and height float level, float angle etc.
It will probably be something simple when you find it.

Are the Jets 0.090" types and not 0.100"?
I have absolutely no clue. How can I tell this? Is there a marking on them anywhere that will tell me?
Get yourself a new 2.50 mm drill bit. Use the end that you'd normally fit in to the chuck as a gauge, see if it fits in the Jet. If it fits, then you have 0.100" (or bigger) Jets, if it doesn't, then you have 0.090" Jets and a handy drill bit.

Sounds like a good plan! Cheers for the tip! So what does this mean though? Which size is the one I want? Am I right in assuming that I could potentially have the larger jets which are causing it to run too rich, when I should actually be using the smaller ones?

You should have 0.090" Jets in 1-1/4" Carbs.
So, if the drill bit doesn't go in, that's good. If it does fit in the Jet, you have the wrong Jets.

Ok great, thanks a lot! I'll check that tomorrow then!

The needle from the first carb (one on the right) is stamped 'EB', where as the needle from the second carb (one on the left) is stamped 'AN'... Now I'm assuming that these should be matching?
Yes

Yes
EB or M Needles in both carbs would get you in the ball park (if your engine is standard), with Red springs.

Ok cheers, the engine is a standard metro 1275 with a lightened flywheel. What do you mean by red springs?

Inside the dashpot, there's Springs. There are a few different types and they are colour coded (only the colour washes off easily)

Ah right, I had a feeling you meant those springs. I didn't realise there were different types though! I have no idea what mine are but they have no colour on them at all. Where could I pick up some red ones?

The same place you'd buy your new EB Needles from
Somerfords, Mini Spares, Burlen etc etc
