Thanks Yeti that looks like a good sump guard. I'm going to have our one fitted and if it doesn't work out I'll take it off

Anyone Got A View On A Sump Guard?

Why make the car lower? Running a low low Mini daily is fine, just don't drive like it like a soft, high up modern car.
Thanks Midas Mk1 It'll be my son's car and he like the lower look, which is fine by me. I agree about driving style. It's a bit of a track day high days and holidays toy so not an every day car, my concern would be driving at night over some poorly maintained UK roads and hitting a high manhole cover which wasn't obvious

I think if you were rallying it may be worthwhile, but fitting a sump guard on a track day car may cause cooling issues

I really wouldnt worry, your son will soon learn how to drive / avoid potholes with the Mini
I've done 9k this year so far at this height since my resto (also on tens), you just get used to it, my concern was that fitting a guard reduces the clearance to the floor.
Hope you and your son enjoy driving the Mini, looks great!
