I think I don't have enough time. I'm sure if I worked on it continuously It would be finished in 2 weeks. It helps being self employed, being in charge of my own diary. If I didn't have a big garden and wasn't building a cabin at the bottom of it at the same time I would have alot more done. :-)

Thought I'd have a look at the fuel tank as I didn't want any nasty suprised when I get the engine in. So got the roll bar off and had a look.

Very long, slim and well made.

Not sure what sender amc used I'm hoping it's a van or pick type so the ohms levels are compatible with a standard centre dial.

Had a spare hr today so decided to cut off the old nasty bumper and weld on the new. I decided to go for a big piece of box section as that's similar to what's on the rear of a hummer and I have seen a pic somewhere of a airforce moke with square bumpers which look good. Even though I'm only doing it to the rear.

Im currently looking at seats. But in a bit of a quandary. Will definitely be getting aluminium bomber seats but its a toss up between 3 types
A.angular type
Attached File  s-l1600 (1).jpg   59.39K   1 downloads

B. Curved type
Attached File  s-l1600 (2).jpg   32.55K   1 downloads

C. Flat type
Attached File  s-l1600.jpg   46.05K   4 downloads

I personally like C as they seem more in keeping with the flat panels of the car and more mokesque. A a bit less, but still flat ish and B less in keeping (but look more comfortable).

But C are nearly double the cost of the others at £400!

Would appreciate some input. Cheers

Loving the build. Keep up the good work.
Personally I would go with A as it looks more comfy and keeps with the flat panels style of C

mmmm have a look at the original steel seats as fitted to the Mokes.

I would pick the closest the them and that is NOT C.

I'm leaning towards C especially as I'm going to have a 4 point harness. Military seats do seem to be function over comfort and I won't be traveling big distances in it. But i do like the holes on the others, good for draining water

Thing is moke seats are like deck chair. I like the look but not much support on the sides

Seats with no lateral support are very tiring to ride on (rather than sit in) no matter what sort of belts you have. It depends what you're going to use it for and how long your journeys are going to be.

Had a look but can't see the metal ones
Are they the ones that look like school chairs? Thought they were fibreglass
