Head Gasket Leak

No signs of any pulled threads.
Tried my head onto another block with the same results, a gap of approx 0.06mm.
I also placed another head onto my block and again a similar gap.
The gap is very small, would this not be taken up when fitting a gasket.

I had exactly this problem. The problem was with the gasket supplied in Minispares SPI head gasket kit (BK450 maybe, but I'm not sure), I couldn't find anyone else who had this problem. The head had just been skimmed and I used brand new studs and nuts.
Using a new gasket fixed my problem, I used a Minispares GEG300, and that's what I'll be using again when I build my engine up during the week.
I had this as well with the MPI Minispares kit as well. Are you sure you fitted it the correct way up? When I fitted it I couldn't see any orientation marks, so assumed it was ok, as the holes seemed to line up ok. It was only after taking the head off again I finally spotted a really faint mark saying to fit it the opposite way up to how i had it. They really should make it more obvious (as it was on the replacement gasket), if it's that critical which way up it goes.

My next plan of action is to get the head checked and skimmed again incase there are any issues after the gasket going between cylinders 2 and 3.
I will then fit a new Payen gasket and see how things go.
IMM is getting closer and i really hope this sorts it !!
