possibly the likes of a D14 engine would work well, found cheaply and go well for a little 1.4 staying bulletproof

and im also counting on using differant driveshafts anyway.
i should be carrying out the flip front nxt year to speed up the convertion time as well as buying and stooring all parts in advance allowing me time to check out the engine and clean it up. hence the need to compile a complete list
also i cant seam to subscribe to 16vminiforum as my i have and account but my password is neversent to my email

Then you can simply upgrade the engine as budget alows. The main costs of frame, driveshafts gearbox will not need replacing later as they can be the same for 1.1 all the way to 1.8.
Might not be any more power for the mini but 5 gears and better economy? Plus more upgradeability.
Just make sure if you make your own frame there is enough room for a twincam head later on.

If you didn't tell them the insurance company would take your money but you wouldn't be insured.duh, i know that, but they wouldnt, you could just insure it as 1.3 and they would just assume it was A series wouldnt they?
