You'll find it hard to stick with low boost! It's addictive

The reason I want to make the bottom end strong/reliable. I will take it easy at first, because It's a new engine, then pile on the boost over time. And a dump valve, because it has to be done, even if it's classed as 'chavy'.

Dump valves are important to save the turbo from stalling. Which can supposedly break the turbines.

Out of curiosity, is it 2 internal diameter piping or just the tailpipe and is it stainless?

I assume It's ID. It's 2'' all the way to the backbox, and the tail pipe is 2.5''. The downpipe is 3'' at the elbow, then 2'', I believe. It's made to fit a 2'' exhaust.

What spec/power you after? I'm told it's the exhaust to go for, and will have no restriction. The main point is you can't get much bigger on the downpipe. 3 inch would probably not fit between the tunnel and the gear linkage anyhoo, even if you could somehow fit a 3 inch downpipe. I'm planning on fitting a Fusion Fabs manifold kit.

From the calcs, 2" (1.75" ID) will be restrictive for the flow at 12psi (150bhp). I'm after a 2.25" OD mandrel bent system.

Give it a go and see what happens. :highfive:  Just make sure the downpipe will fit. :shy:

Plenty of folk make decent power on a 2" downpipe, but if you can fit bigger in go for it. You want the least possible restriction after the turbine & unlike a NA engine you can't really go to big on a turbo motor.

Ive just done myself a 2.25" bore mandrel system, I was considering doing another to sell, I could look at doing one for you if you want, I have Tig stuff for stainless, and can stretch pipes to do slip joints.I did make the backbox for mine with a carbon can, but it was a PITA, next time I would just get a stainless box off the shelf, then its just a matter of geting a couple of 30 deg bends and sone cutting welding etc,

i dont have any good pics of mine, but managed to find these, it was extra tight being a remote box, rod change would be easier.Attached File  DSC_1511JPG.jpg   40.18K   5 downloadsAttached File  DSC_1513JPG.jpg   46.75K   4 downloadsAttached File  DSC_1512JPG.jpg   35.49K   2 downloads
