Ah awesome will be a lot of fun then, I may have a GTI cam for the 8v at home if you want one, I swapped mine with the 2.0 16v from the mk3 GTI was plenty of fun

Thanks for the offer, If you find it let me no and depending on cost I could be interested. Im just trying to build a reliable engine really, 16v vr6 etc never really bothered me. Looking at just replacing seals etc on current engine and giving it a tart up and hope all internals have some life left in them.

I wasn't going to bother removing the sealer but i mainly did it for piece of mind, Vw did a good job to be fair it's not done bad for 29 years old.The interior has now gone except the carpet. Not sure if ive going to do the underneath in body colour or just black.

Thanks for commenting.

Done a few hours this morning, got the battery tray finished.

Plug welds all grind'ed down.

Chassis rail close panel cut out ready for repair.

uNSXPmPl.jpg

I had a piece of old chassis that came with the car so cut out what I needed. No welding pics as I just got on with It.

I will more than likely give it a light skim of filler to finish.

Looking great! Love a MK2, nearly finished my MK2 VR6 project. Owned it 4 years this year.

What epoxy primer are you using?
