Project has not been touched in two years but I am happy to say that this summer is where that all changes!
Buying our first house & having a baby really stop a project. But with some money going into a pot every month I finally have enough to hopefully get this little car back on the road.
The order of parts has been placed and the mini is booked in for respray in august.
Watch this space as some nice shiny updates will follow

Nothing too crazy to update yet, received a few of the many deliveries to come
hoping the rest for the subframe parts arrive as my plan was to get that fitted on Sunday.

I have a super silly question that I’m hoping someone will answer.
From the battery where does the positive cable go to first ?
For the life of me I don’t know my mind is drawing a blank.
Appreciate it

Can anyone tell me exactly what I should have there wiring wise?
Main bolt terminal- battery main positive/engine bay fuse box supply/ brown cable with purple strip
The back spade terminal - red cable that I assume goes to something on the ignition side.
What goes on front spade connecter? I think my old front spots went on there but I won’t be using them?
I appreciate any response

take a look at a wiring diagram as I think they differ year to year.. but here is what mine has: one post on the solenoid corresponds to where the power comes IN from the battery. On this post you also have a couple other wires: one is a double wire that goes to the alternator (in my case they are both brown and are joined), there is also a spade connector that feeds the lights. There are two other spade connectors that go to the ignition switch, one of which triggers the solenoid (i believe in my case it is brown and connects to position 1 on the ignition switch). The red/white connector also goes to the switch, I think it was position 2 though my memory is foggy. The brown other end of the solenoid has the post that feeds the starter. It only receives power when the ignition switch activates the solenoid relay - otherwise it is OFF.

she started off with turning over fine but never really getting close to starting. Which lead to me changing the crank sensor
This changed nothing and I’m happy to admit when I do something completely stupid and had the HT leads in the incorrect order. So after the firing order being corrected & there being fuel and spark ( now at the correct time ) you would think she would start? But sadly no
Moving forward I have changed multiple sensors including air temp, water temp. Crank sensor, oil pressure
She had started twice now but honesty she either starts straight away or 20 tries later so no consistency
The plugs are black dry but I’m going to assume this is mainly because she hasn’t been running long enough to burn this off
Any help from anyone with MPI knowledge would be amazing as I’m close to pulling my hair out and before I carry on buying more parts maybe have someone shine some light on the subject

Would be worth changing or at least wire brushing the spark plugs clean.
