As promised.

This really is poor. The hole is massive compared to the split pin.

I’ve glued the outer of a pop rivet in to tighten it up.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can see what you mean about the hole being far too big for the split pin. How have you found the rest of the kit? Would you recommend waiting to buy one from them or getting one from elsewhere?

Let me get it fitted and I'll let you know

I was actually on looking at this kit and the push pull cables look far better than the rod system.

Not sure wether to buy or not with the issues others have been having

I'm sold on the cable approach of the A-Series kit, but getting one is proving difficult. I have been trying since January.

I've contacted A-series spares today as I couldn't get the back plate to line up with the hole in the door panel. Apparently it was passed to the workshop, but that was at 10.24 this morning, I've heard nothing since

It gets jammed between the nut on the back of the motor hitting the door skin and the head of the allen bolt on the inner frame

It's clear they trim this post down (this image is before I made any modifications) but I had to cut it down further in order to get the plate to line up as it should.

I bought this kit 5 years ago so there is no way I can return it now, I'm just hoping that once it's installed it works as it should.

I'm not sure these will ever come back into stock........

I put Fiat Punto 'leccy window motors in mine 2 years ago.  It was one helluva engineering exercise, especially with sticking to our 'no drill' policy but we were very, very pleased with the result, I'll see if I can find some pics.

It's a shame that you're having these issues. Did they ever get back to you?

No.

I contacted them again today asking for an update although I’ve solved the space issue now.

Good to see that it's working. Did you manage to make the backing plate fit?

Yes, I had to cut the bolt holes down so the nut and bolt cleared the bodywork

Id like to source the cable or drive mechanism from somewhere.  Ive source a different alarm which im pleased with and have used before, I may just look into making a set of the mechanims as found on the W&P kit rather than the cable drive in the ASD kit.

I managed to find an unused A-Series kit on eBay. Should have it in a couple of weeks.

I called A-Series Spares before purchasing it. They say that their kit it out of stock for “at least another month”, but couldn’t give any real indication about when they’ll have them in stock again.

I went ahead and made my own kit.  Similar to the W&P one with two actuators and some levers,  Connected up to a Hawk Alarm, Not bad for £75 all in....

Can someone who has fitted this to a set of MPi doors with the crash bars enlighten me as to how the cable secures itself to both the locking mechanism and the door frame itself when the crash bar is in  the exact place you are expected to drill the hole?

I've not had much luck getting an answer from anyone so far, but there surely must be someone out there who has fitted this to a later car successfully.

Please help.
