On the rear shock uppers there are 2 bushes, each has a cupped washer either side of them. I removed the inners cups so the rubber mounts directly to the arch.


By doing that I suspect the rubber bush will deteriorate faster than usual

Standard on a lot of others shock set ups. I'm fine with it deteriorating faster, it doesn't knock anymore which will be causing metal fatigue.

Also the same setup as the front tie rods which don't have intermediate washers.

Thanks! I left the washers in, just had to torque up the upper bolts. Pain in the royal bottom as fuel tank had to be removed, well worth it though. Just realised that the engine steady bushes desperately need replacing too...
