10” tyres need to be fitted from the back of the wheel, much easier to get the bead over the wheel rim this way rather than fitting from the front side. My late father worked for Goodyear tyres for 30 yrs and this was one of the ‘tricks’ they would play on new apprentices, ask them, to replace a set of tyres on a mini 1000 and after letting them struggle for a while would come over and flip the wheel round on the tyre fitting machine and bingo, tyre on in 30 seconds!
