Hi,

I've got a 1997 Mini MPI with Sportspack. I'd like to install electric windows & central locking, but I want the central locking kit to retain the original alarm/immobiliser & also to work from the original rover key fob.

I've done plenty research & had previously planned to get the two kits from A-Series spares, but after reading bad feedback posts I didn't... quite glad as they are no longer trading!

I recently decided to bite the bullet & purchase the two kits, and decided to go for Wood & Pickett, but it seems they no longer have their website & only trade via eBay! Searching on their eBay site I can't find the kits I want... are they selling off old stock or are they still in business? Emailed them & no response.

Does anyone have any other kits they can recommend that can BOTH fit in the MPI doors?

Cheers

Mike

They have a shop / workshop / showroom in Leatherhead right near the station. I was there not so long ago, when I was at the counter I actually went via their ebay shop even though I was physically in the place...! Must be just the way they trade.

I thought I heard a while back that W&P had handed out redundancy notices to staff, so it is possible they are now only trading on E-Bay. One way to check is to pick an item on their E-Bay site and scroll down to “ask a question” then you can enquire about their trading status and whether they can supply the 2 bits of kit you want.

You could be right, just looked on Google Maps and it lists W&P at the address I knew, but says Closed.

Spring 2019 MiniWorld magazine confirmed that the Wood & Pickett Mini parts business is now owned by Leacy Classics and has moved to their Birmingham premises :-

If you are stuck for one of these Kits, I bought one a few years back from W&P and is unused and has never been fitted. I am in Aust, so take that in to account here. See if something shows up locally.

I bought this kit to see if it could be adapted to fit our local cars, but in the end, it was easier to do our own home brew.
