Why not on the other side, below the alternator?

or on the offside inner wing - over the (redundant?) air scoop hole?

Is the starter the issue or is it the flywheel housing it fits to? I filed a good chunk of the housing off so it is flush with the starter to get mine to fit in that place.

I decided to leave the cooler off for now, I will fit it if I have cooling issues but if not will leave it off, easy to add in though as I've built the car with it being fitted in mind.

Probably going to do what your going to do, but I want to get it fitted somewhere for the time been, just so I'm happy everything fits, and more importantly that it works.

It's to big to fit in there Graeme.

Still a bit tight in there John, with the cooling fan mount, and it would pickup quite a lot of crap from the road.

I’ve the same cooler and a bigger alternator and it fits, and have previously had a 13 row in there.
Admittedly I’ve flattened the lip on the front panel like the MPi

Yeah it might fit on a standard mini engine, but the problem that I have is that the sandwich plate thermostat sticks out, and the fittings fowl with the throttle body filter, it's my ******* up, so I'll find a way, don't really want to start cutting into the body work as the car is sprayed.

Things have been very slow on the mini front, between work and the garden, there hasn't been much progress. Might have resolved the oil cooler position, will try and get some pictures post over the next few days.
Had to strip the cam pulley cover off, as I had a small weep from the gasket, cleaned it up and put RTV sealant on this time, seems to be ok now.

Cheers Paul.

Well, as you can see from the picture, the oil cooler is in pretty much the same position as I had it, but with a few tweeks. I've turned the ITG filter upside down to give me more room to turn the cooler with the fittings at the top, and modded the left hand bracket so the fitting on the top left does not clash with the body work. I've still to weld the brackets up, drill a few holes, etc, etc. Once all that finished of, I'll give the brackets a coat of chassis black.

Hi guys, not much has really happened with my car since August, work, life, and house/garden stuff keep getting in the way of progress, lol. Here's a few pictures of what I have managed, which is not a lot really!
When is the next IMM in the UK going to be, lol.

Oil catch tank fitted under the off side wing.

KAD brake bias fitted and plumbed in.

Finally fitted the alloy stalk ends on which I got from one of the lads on here.

Made up a mounting bracket for the SC FPR.

Before fitting in the braided fuel lines.

I have fitted all the new coolant lines to the heater, but forgot to take a picture, it was a bit of a PITA due to getting everything to fit and to make sure it flows in the correct direction, which was done with a check valve.

Anyway, that's it for a while, as once I get back from work, I've got a new window to put, decking to finish, start on remodelling the bedrooms, and on suite to start to top it off!

Cheers for looking Paul.

Hi guys, unfortunately not been up to much with mini over the past year, now that IMM 2025 has been announced, I best get my finger out.
So I've started on my internal gear change, will get some pictures up when i get back from work.

Cheers, Paul.

Flickr is pretty good, up to 1000 photos on a free account, easy to upload via the app, but only drawback is needing to use the Web version web page to copy the correct bbcode for forum...not difficult once you get the hang of it
