I decided to bump start my mini without the starter motor on so see if that was hitting to see if i could eliminate the noise but it was still there. So i have come to a conclusion that there is a problem witht the transmition as everything in the block has been replaced and taken apart and check again! managed to get mew gearbox for £40 in perfect condition Will let you all know how it goes......thanks for all your help!

make sure you check the gap between the gearbox and the flywheel housing correctly, if its too tight you will tear the housing and the middle drop gear to bits!! its all in the older haynes books!! worth checking out!!
