The instructions for cleaning an ITG foam air filter from Induction Technology Group Limited says “under no circumstances use cotton gauze filter oil, engine oil or any other oil not specifically manufactured for foam air filters.” If you don’t have ITG oil, suitable brands include “Silkolene, Motul, Rock Oil, Shell, No-toil or Q8. For what its worth, ITG sells cleaning fluid and proper oil for foam filters. Not trying to rain on your parade.

This was the response from MED

Hi Phil,

Yes that will be ideal. The filters are pre-oiled when new, so no need to coat just yet.

Thanks,

Stephen
Hey Stephen,

Is it ok to use the K&N filter solution as almost full and did not want to waste it - I have the cleaner and oil?

As opposed to being forced to use ITG cleaner on my new foam kit?

Phil

OK, then.  Good to know as I have a couple containers of the K & N oil on the shelf.  Thanks.
