I think awareness is a good thing as long as it's harmless. I dont like the idea of baiting and slagging people off who might not be aware of what's wrong with their cars. I see this a lot on other car forums I visit and it's quite shocking to see what total disregard some people have on human beings in general.

This was not intended to be a thread to personally attack an individual or their property, more to raise awareness of the frankly ridiculous, shameful and basically illegal adverts that some shameful persons try to offload onto unsuspecting buyers.

Mods, please feel free to lock this topic if its felt to be inappropriate.

I've only just now looked at this thread and I have locked it.

We play nice or not at all guys and gals.

My own personal views of open discussion of threads of this nature is that they are not at all good or wise. If someone is buying second hand, leave it to them to do their own homework on the validity of the item being sold and it's value. They maybe happy to otherwise purchase a non-original widget at 3 times the perceived market price but discussions like these can shame them from doing so.

It's an open market out there, sellers can sell what they like so long as it's legal and ask what ever price they like. The people who are genuine buyers will soon bring this to an equilibrium.

I've also noticed in our own local market, and is likely the case elsewhere, that wide spread on going discussions like these artificially suppress the market which is harmful to our craft.

Also, put yourself in the sellers shoes. You have gadget to sell, you list it for sale for what you feel it is and what it's worth, only to have it picked up on threads like these in social media to have it devalued. I don't think that would be a pleasant experience.

While these are my own personal views, that is not why the thread has been locked.
