Embarrassed to admit this

When I had my first mini in about 1987 i snapped a rear subframe heelboard bolt
when changing the rear subframe for the mot
I glued the head back on and it passed

I was only 18 at the time

What other bodges will people confess to let’s start a “bodge amnesty”

Errr, what is that? The love child of a Mini Clubman and a Landrover Discovery?

Well aware of the Matra Rancho, had a die cast model of one as a child!

I actually quite like them, an early SUV  :proud:

Previous owner of my car fitted non-standard fuse boxes and used red wire to extend every wire and used generic crimp connectors to join the wires. Now I'm restoring it I'll be sorting the wiring loom out properly, might just buy a new one and modify that rather than messing about with 25+ year old wiring.

Previous owner only drove it to and from mot centre, let it rust underneath so now I've a whole to weld, electrics to be completely re done. Lost the boot covers, battery cover and secure bolts. Someone painted the wheels in light purple which does look good on the purple equinox.

SHould have used porridge. It sticks well to the sink uBend , resisting even hot water and soap. A  well good base for paint  I imagine; if you use codenmsed milk, should sand down well to the smoothest of finishes. :shades:. Cheaper too.

Drove in my mini to minispares Potters Bar. Had a good chat. Asked about Rob from Minibits specialist service garage, Hertfordhire.... who I have not been able to contact  by phone for a two or three  years. Apparently he has passed away, following a head injury, leaving a young son. Very sad. I liked him very much.
