Not easy to tell from the picture because its all black but it looks a bit like the brake hose fixing is extended across the radius arm pin hole (making an additional layer/thickness)

 

Not sure if this is correct as standard as I haven't looked at mine lately but I juts recall the bracket being cut back before reachin the hole

Just went and got some quick and dirty measurments from the garage.

 

Presumed original subframe - both sides around 7mm thick.

 

Pattern Subframe - around 10mm (can only get to one side without dragging half the garage out).

 

Stub length - just over an inch.

 

Looks like I will have to deal with this in the future too....

Thanks again for your measurements. Just to update you as I believe you have a pattern subframe, I fitted a plain washer and new grade 8 zinc plated nuts on each side with loctite and it all pulled together nicely. The bolt now is now just protruding through the nut.

Nice one, glad you got it sorted out.

 

I'm still a way off fitting mine, but I appreciate you letting me know what to expect and how to overcome it!
