Time to get it home so I can do some work on it myself.

Martin,

I was quite blown away with just how far and from how little this total rebuild has taken shape.

I did see one other fella start from little more than you did, but I'm sure you beat him hands down. I thought I'd done just about all there ever was to do on a Moke, but these kind of repairs leave me well standing, I am in awe and quite impressed.

The one issue I see with your repair of the shell is that sadly, it's nothing like a Factory Shell - yours will be flat and square :D  The genuine ones were not great and they got worst as time went on.

Martin, I see the Jig / Frame that your guys used to holed the various panels and panel assemblies in place for alignment and weld on. Is that a Universal Jig or a dedicated Moke one or did these guys make it for your job ?

I’ve wanted a Moke for a very long time so I’m putting maximum effort into making this one the best possible. I’ve got a very long way to go yet. I’ve searched high and low for parts to make this as original as possible. It’s been interesting making contacts around the world.

The jig the lads used to construct the Moke is a universal one. Try to find AA Vintage and Classics on Facebook and look at the other cars they have restored. They are very good at what they do. This Moke is square.

I’ve had all the original wheels sand blasted and painted.

Here they are fitted with tyres. I’m going for the rugged look.

Heater refurbished. This one is painted. The first heater I refurbished, I had all the parts powder coated. When I tried to put it together it wouldn’t fit. All the panels were too big. Lesson learned.

I found these vents on eBay. I wanted to have them offset rather than central. The pipe work is from a Henry vacuum. Exactly the same size as the original Mini items but much better quality.

I’m going to do a full dry build to ensure everything fits before I paint the Moke. Fitting the front lights and the start of drilling lots of holes.

I will need to make up a bracket to fix the heater below the dash.

The rear light layout. The reverse light is going to be both reverse and fog light. I’ve bought an LED bulb that will light red and white.
