I can't get Valvoline VR1 in my area for under $15 a litre...too rich for my blood! Did my first min oil change with a 20W50  Castrol GTX oil (at $3 a litre on clearance) and added a ZDDP additive to it.

I have used both and the Valvoline VR1 is thinner than the Millers Classic. Therefore Valvoline lubricates better when the engine has not yet reached the maximum temperature.

I've heard good things about oil from Minispares.

And of course, Penrite 20w-60 is a great oil, but expensive too.
