I'm glad I did mine in an MPi subframe, it moved the engine forward 13mm and then i leaned the engine forward. Loads of room!

Again I had no idea the later subframe moved the engine forward, Is this just the MPI subframe? My subframe came from a much later mini but not MPI.

I believe SPi onwards it moved it forward to clear the inlet manifold and air box.

my subframe came from a 1992 - 998 so im pretty sure it will be standard style. Hopefully with the adjustable top steady it will all fit. The new turbo inlet connection should save some room. I hope

Not totally sure what's what with your drawings.

The internal machining of the compressor housing is to very close tolerances, if you were thinking of replacing it.

I moved my wastegate actuator to  next to the carb by grinding the lever free, turning it 90 degrees then rewelding it to the shaft. Made up a bracket to secure the can to the turbo/manifold flange.

In the pictures the compressor housing is drawn poorly as i couldn't be bothered. But its the original housing drawn to scale. The original actuator bracket and connection for air inlet or filter is one piece that bolts on with 2 screws. The drawing shows a new box that replaces the original inlet and creates a new vertical inlet that should be closer to the engine than original. simply bolts to the front of the compressor housing.

This just bolts to the front of the compressor housing

Thanks for that. I found some that get close to the area. Think I will make the unit and modify if necessary when it all goes in
