Hello

I fitted a stage one kit from Maniflow last year, and I need to replace the inlet manifold as one of the threads cracked.

Does anyone know the best time to contact them? I've phoned them a few times now, left a message, emailed them- but still no reply...

thanks!

Is it a steel or alloy inlet? Try the minispares one

It was the alloy one.

Is there much difference? The geometry is slightly different, and I had the car tuned with the maniflow one- hence why I wanted to stick with the original.

If there isn't much difference though, I can easily get the miispares one...

Maniflow are on a skeleton staff so their communication isn't great. Why not have the manifold welded and rethreaded?

Do you think that would work out cheaper than buying a new one for £40?

I did consider it, but thought it would be too expensive.

to be honest it's one of those, 'who you know' things, if you know someone it'll probably cost you a pint, if not it could cost £50 so it's only worth doing if you can't get a new/sh one or you're in a hurry.

I needed to get in touch with Maniflow recently and they are extremely busy. They didn't respond to either a phone message or email.

I was lucky enough to get through on the phone at the 3rd attempt and they were able to process my order. They were in the process of making 800 manifolds.

This was about 2 weeks ago so don't expect a quick response. They quoted me 3-4 weeks to make my exhaust.

I dont care how busy you are, leaving phones to ring out or not responding to messages is appalling service.

Didn't say the service was good - just relaying what happened to me.

What thread? One of the carb mount threads? Helicoil/vcoil kit. If you have a drill already that ll be the cheapest.

ok it sounds like I should just go for a minispares inlet manifold! I doubt there is much performance difference between the two of them.

And the corner of one of the holes completely broke off when I was installing, so there are no threads left! I was being stupid, and I never tilted the engine forward when trying to assemble the inlet/carb assembly. The maniflow inlet is slightly 'deeper' than the original (I think).

yeah I agree. If they're so busy, why can't they employ another receptionist?

Maybe they’re happy plodding along as they are, some of us have enough work.

Minispares inlet has good reviews on all types of engines. I have one on my 1275 that's been built to a good spec, and one on my 998 clubby estate.
