Hi all, hope everyone is doing well.

I would like some help please in regards to fitting some new headlamps I've purchased for the mini.

The headlamps I've purchased are XCC10001 H4 with some h4 Lucas bulbs.

They are replacing a sealed beam unit in my 1990 Mayfair. I currently have the half bowl setup, with adjuster springs in the assembly and two black plastic screws for positioning the headlamp. The connection is 3 pronged with the sidelight holder attached to the bottom of the headlight bulb socket.

The main bulb H4 Lucas fits my connection fine and works. However the sidelight doesn't fit into the sidelight hole on the new headlamp. Also the headlamp itself doesn't fit my assembly setup at all. I've looked online and it seems there are quite a few assemblies for head lamps and sidelights. I want to make sure I'm purchasing the right pieces.

Can some one with experience please let me know what I need to be buying to make this all work correctly and fit properly please.

Thank you

Pictures would be useful to help us troubleshoot, I used the Autopal branded units which have a bulb holder that sits in a rubber grommit, we had to modify the bowl slightly to allow fitment

Long time since I did it but I got two new sidelight holders which pushed into the rubber grommet in the new lamp, some wiring required. The existing sidelight holders unclip from the lampholder.
Unscrew the 3 tiny screws securing the sealed beam and refit the new lamp in exactly the same manner.
I have fitted halogen units to all my classics so long ago that memories are hazy but I cannot remember any difficulty.Have fun,Steve..

Thanks for the replies. There is videos showing how to fit new headlights but I couldn't find anything specifically relating to the parts on my model.
