Now Marks and Spencer has renamed 'Midget Gems' sweets to 'Mini Gems' after a campaigner brands the term ‘offensive’ where does this leave MG Midget owners?

"Marks and Spencer has rebranded its popular Midget Gems sweets to avoid offending people with dwarfism.
Dr Erin Pritchard, a lecturer in disability studies at Liverpool Hope University, successfully campaigned for the name to be changed to Mini Gems."

The world's gone mad, but why do we never meet these terminally offended types in everyday life? It's like offices banning xmas trees and cards because it might offend someone who's never worked there. It's just a case of someone being offended for someone that they've never met.

Thankfully BMW won't be able to complain about the use of the word 'mini'.

Worlds gone mad.

I think MS just use this to create some form of PR, every year they take Aldi to court for copying some generic cake or product, it creates headlines and maybe increases footfall.

Cancel culture offends me deeply so this post is the start of Cancel the Cancel Culture movement. Who's with me? Everyone say yeah - or write to your local MP, newspaper, TV station even facebook (which also offends me and should be banned) if you must. Solidarity brothers and sisters or what ever you identify as :highfive:

:shy:

I'm afraid there are a lot of people in modern life who are looking for opportunities to be offended or to be offended on someone elses behalf for some nonesense thing that wouldn't even occur to normal people as being a problem.  This is just a case in point.

The woke generation are everywhere :-(

Tesco has also said it will also be reviewing the name of its product.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: "We are a diverse and inclusive retailer and we would not want any of our products to cause offence.
"We are grateful to Dr Pritchard for bringing this to our attention."

Perhaps MG Midget owners should now stick some black tape over their boot badges to prevent causing any offence to following drivers...or carry out some BMC/BL badge engineering and rebadge their MG's as Austin Healey Sprites. The world has gone nuts...

I detest this woke cancel culture we are in right now.

In time it will really back fire on national defence, free speech etc etc. 'cant possibly have an inquiry in to a terrorist event as it will offend the terrorist'.

Comedy is on borrowed time too..

Too many people just looking for something to offend them.
