I'd forgotten about this thread that I have also commented on and last Mon ordered some very small parts from MS...delivery via Evri! Ugh! Not yet arrived it has been taken to the wrong Evri depot... apparently it's on its way. Not in a hurry for the items, so no biggie.

Bit then something v strange happened last night. I got a spam text, mobile advised it was spam and popped it directly into its spam box...I looked to see what it was anyway and it reported to be from Evri (it wasn't) and that my expected delivery had a shipping fee on it of of £1.35 with a link to evriredeliveryitemdotcom (didn't enter full URL just incase someone accidentally hits it) and if I didn't pay it now the item was going to be returned to the sender.

I've never had anything delivered by Evri before so surely this can't be a coincidence can it?

Has Evri been hacked via a backdoor and some whatnot is sending these messages out to expecting customers of Evri parcels. Maybe it is just a complete coincidence, but what timing.

I wish I'd seen this thread before! I also ordered some bits on monday and I'm still waiting, needed mine this weekend ideally >_<. As said I'm pretty sure it said royal mail delivery when I was ordering it.

They only mention post office (Royal Mail) and DHL for regular (non freight) delivery. It's fair to expect that one of the two mentioned companies will deliver your order.

It seems that Hermes has changed to Evri because of bad press!

I would imaging that the attitude of the destination courier has the fate of Evri in his/her hands. Unfortunately, these are a varied bunch. I've had broken parcels on the patio at the rear of the house, (thrown over the fence at the front of the house), to one friendly courier that gave me his mobile number and said if I needed to return any item he would collect it when on his rounds.

The couriers also have now the option of joining a pension fund, so this may lead to a more reliable workforce. Only time will tell.

I ordered some parts recently, addressed to my workplace (a trading estate)  tracked, which implied they tried to deliver three times, nobody from evri came near i was there the whole time, parts were sent back, a little annoyed because my mini was booked to show at Himley Hall, I pleaded with minispares to never send me parts with evri again!!

I've ordered 3 times in the past month from MS, all 3 deliveries have arrived within days, all via DHL. Superb as always!

I'm getting really hacked ordering from Minispares now since they've started using Evri.

Place an order and haven't a clue when it'll arrive.

Started looking at other suppliers.

Evri (Hermes) are just bloody awful..!!

P and L minis in Thurnscoe are good and they use the same suppliers as minispares :)

I've just place an order with mini Spares and it is being delivered by DHL. What options are you selecting for them to use evri?

They use Evri for very small parts with hardly any weight. If I place a large order for many parts then it's always DHL and there's never an issue. But if you've missed something from an order, but will need it soon it'll be Evri...wish they used RM for the small non,-urgent parts instead.

Just to provide a quick update on this, unfortunately Royal Mail changed systems without giving us any warning and as such we had to change courier for small items. We hope to be using Royal Mail again from next week :)

Yes, great news Gav.

I've starting ordering from others since MS starting using Evri.

I want to use MS.
I like their website, stuffs good and staff knowledgeable.....but you just can't rely on it being delivered whilst they're using Evri to deliver it.

I’ve had no issues with Evri, I’d always pick MS over others.

Yes had delivery from Evri - they appear have driven over parcel - black tyre marks on parcel
that squashed the threaded engine end of a new speedo cable making it unuseable
contacted MS, sent pictures of parcel and damaged item they responded very quickly
no need to send item back, they sending a new item out to me via Royal Mail this time

I ordered some parts form Minispares on the 24 hour delivery option, unfortunately the Post Office strikes delayed it by a couple of days and to add to the problem the part I ordered was damaged, I contacted Minispares on Tuesday (30/08/22) and the new parts were delivered and the damaged part picked up today (31/08/22) at 10.00.

Great service and excellent advice given, well done Minispares
