Here's a diabolical bodge. One I did on my first minivan back in 1971. Take one reel of Dad's alloy lawn edging strip. Very light, but corrugated. Lay the strip under the wheel. Drive over it to straighten out the corrugated wavy look and make it flat. Fashion it to the angle of the outer sill. Paste one side with filler. Stick it over the original rotten outer sill. Cover the lot with a thick coat of underseal. Looked pretty good and lasted a fair time before needing more pudding. If going for the MOT suggest driving through muddy puddles for that authentic patina........One I really liked back then was the sills of a A35 van ( quite deep if you recall) filled with old newspapers, skimmed with filler and sprayed.
