Hi all,

I had another post about this but the title is about engine movement and not clunking noise

Anyway - thought i would share this as information.

Clunking noise when taking up drive was in the end found to be a worn diff pin - see below😜

The output shafts teeth look good to me.

Anybody think otherwise???

I cannot believe the pin did not break!!!! And thank god I asked the mini forum for help and found it - so thankyou all😁👍

only 1 shim was in the diff - 0.020" -

What shims do you recommend to buy when installing a brand new X pin diff? (i know they are not in stock but have been reliably informed they maybe back in stock soon (weeks not months))

Thanks in advance

I have kept a pin I had which was just like that. Indeed lucky it didn't fracture.

There is a technical term for its condition. It is one word which begins with an 'F' and ends in 'ukked' ;D .
