I own 1965 Morris Mini Minor 848cc which is all original with the exception of electronic ignition. The car starts fine (using E5 fuel) but seems to have a misfire until properly warmed up which can take 10 minutes or so on the open road. The engine has a serious lack of power during this period and before taking any action on this would appreciate your comments and or advice. Thank you.

How do the plugs look? Have you checked compression

Misfires are usually electrical.  Flat spots are carb.

What sort of misfire?  a regular misfire or a general random misfire?

I would say a general random misfire which clears when the car is fully warmed up. Thanks

First thought is running weak and needs to warm up before the mixture is right.  That said, duff plugs or poor ignition might also give that effect as the engine will run better with either or both when warm.

Plugs look ok although only been on a few short runs after winter. Not checked compression as yet - are you thinking head gasket? Thanks for your replies.
