Hello all

Disclaimer i know nothing. Have been tinkering away on the mini it moves and stops now but its sounds quite 'tappy'

So my question is for anyone that knows, what is the safest bet for valve clearances, the manual says 0.012", as do some forum posts here. 0.015" is also mentioned, is there a 'safe' option from the two, no matter the cam and head or is it a case of just trying both to see which sounds better.

the car has receipts so digging through the engine is a 1333, stage 3 head, cam 276, timing gear type duplex std.

The engine has 20k miles on it from when it was put in there 20ish years ago and doubt it has been done since, so due a look id guess.

Thanks for any help

Adam
