Hello,

I have to rebuild my 1969 Cooper S' brake servo (single line brake system).
The slave cylinder housing is the cast iron type. I seems to have been rebuild at least once.

I would like to coat or paint the housing in the appropriate colour. I found a source that says the housings were painted black:

"The brake servo slave cylinder should be finished in matt black."

Source: http://www.bobine.nl...er-brake-servo/

Also Dan of this forum says it should be painted enamelled black.

Who of the above mentioned is correct? Enamelled is not exactly a matte finish or is it?

Hope someone has the knowledge to help me out here. Thanks in advance.
