They may not require ARP quality but they are the single hardest worked component in your engine.

Google is very good at times https://unbrako.com/

As for ‘penny pinching on rod bolts’ , I don’t consider it ‘penny punching’ in this case, not all builds require ARP bolts.

thanks but I meant a link to somewhere selling the right ones for a A+ conrod

The OP seemed to be looking for 998 bolts not 1275

Ahh sorry my mistake, 12.9 grade socket cap heads are ideal for this application. Somerfords has the originals listed as no longer available.

ah well decided i'd just take the pain and go with the ARP bolts from minispares. Whats an extra 120 quid when i'm already opening up the engine again?

I'll just have to eat nothing but cup noodles for a month  :D

If you look up the part number 200-6207 you’ll find them much cheaper from the US. Seeing as they are made in the US, there’s no point paying for them to have a holiday in the UK before being posted on to you

77 USD is indeed VERY much cheaper. but for some reason shipping from the US is really expensive. All in I would have saved 6 quid buying these from the US, with the other stuff from minispares. So i decided to just buy it all from minispares, because at least that way I wont have to pay tax and processing fees on this twice. (DHL charges a flat 9 quid per shipment for dealing with the customs paperwork. I would have still saved a little on the import tax though )

Just think if you had paid the 5 pounds to join TMF+ you would have saved 7.5% on your Minispares order.

Out of curiosity, on an A+ engine, would you use the locktab with those ? 2A659 is available from many suppliers - equivalent of 12G2217  ???
