Ok, as you all proberly know, im having trouble figureing out a way of getting my mini to and from rallys.

I also have the problem that i can not afford the insurance on my impreza any more.

So i am going to have to sell the impreza and get another car. :'(

These are the cars i am looking at, these will not be used to tow a trailer, just as a day car.

Once i have sold my impreza i will have about £4000 to spend, but i want to spend as little as possable.

These are the cars:

GP = Car insurance group.

Peugeot 205 1.4 GT. GP 6
Peugeot 106 1.3 Rallye. GP 9
Skoda Fabia 1.4 sport. GP 4
Ford Puma 1.4. GP 9
MG ZR 1.4. GP 7
Rover Metro 1.4 GTi. GP 11
Mitsubishi Colt 1.6. GP 6

What do you think is best?

Thanks.

Chris.

Fabia will do it easy, but save up a lil moer and keep your eyes peeled for a VRS, more money yes but more fun and so much better. The 1.9 diesel does 90 to the gallon AND thats with a hopper on to put it upto 160bhp

Just read that it wont be used for a trailer, in that case get the cheapest one that isnt falling apart, but skodas are good.

From that list I'd get the Rallye. But what about another mini?

For that money you could get a 16V conversion!

Personally I'd get any old nail with a year's ticket and not look at spending more than a couple of hundred.
Then you got plently left over for trick bits for your Mini, and still a reserve for an other old nail if it should fall to bits!

plese dont tempt me!!!

I need something with a boot and that is reliable.

I have done 3000 miles in the last two months!!!

The think with the ralle is that they have all been ragged.

I like the idea of the MG or the colt.

Chris.

personally i think the ZR's suck, just chav wagons that daddy buys them for there 17th.
if it was me i'd have the rallye, or by a shed with a boot and spend the rest on the mini.

A 16v converted mini would be as reliable as any of that list, and depending on where you get it you know it won't have been ragged. Plus you know minis, you'll know how to fix it, plus you know how cheap they are to fix.

to be honest, one of the last Mpi's is more than capable of standing upto 3k every couple of months.

I agree that the MGs are a bit of the poor side. Theres a reason that MG Rover still went under!

Also its hard to get hold of partds for the colt.

The thing with getting a shead is that i spend a lot of time in my car, so i want to drive a nice car, plus i love cars and want to drive a good one.

i run a clio diesel as my every day works van

they might only have a 1.5 engine but i would say they are quicker than that lot + lots of mpg and cheap tax and insurance

the clio 1.5 dci engines can be chiped to 100 bhp and have more torque than the 172 cup

i agree with jammy all the waY! a 16v conversion would in most cases be very reliable, plus! it would put a 10 times bigger smile on ur face than any of the over cars in your list!

GO 16V

LOL
