Jesus, 8 I way too cold for that set up!! They'll be fowling loads!
You ideally need a wideband for closed loop running. I worry about SC's knowledge of efi tuning.

I worry about what they send out and say it will be fine. The list of stuff they got wrong with mine could fill a book

It seems the moral to this story is by all means put on a 7 port head but put carbs on it too 👍

If I had my time (and money) again I would just avoid altogether.

Did you ever try it on carbs?

No. But if you spend the money that I did,and others have, you don't expect to have the issues I did. Without Oz sorting it all out the whole project would have been ridiculous

Interesting stuff chaps, keep it up. Interestingly my (cast) head was supplied with C7 plugs, but I’ll be using 6’s for first start and initial running. Also it was supplied without injectors and I was recommended 180’s, 1275, SW8, 10.5:1. Time will tell how it goes, not using the SC ecu.

Will get some CR6E plugs and try them, I also have some NGK CR7EIX 7385 iridium that I can try.

i spoke with Kieth about the cam and got it directly from him with matching cam followers

I built the engine myself.

Engine build is capability of circa. 100bhp at 7500rpm but as I’m running on the road I set the limiter to 5200rpm, I’m not chasing max power.
will look at fitting a lambda sensor

will look to see if there is a Delta specialist in my area

Do you have a print out of the graph from the dyno?

Whats the torque like below 3000?

When will the engine be ready to go?

Think you've answered it there, rev limit way too low, 266 is very mild on a 5 porter never mind a 7 port.

Run 7 plugs for years on my  hot 5 porter 1380, tried 8's the last few weeks, work fine on the road.

the 266ss is not quite as sporty as the Re13 profile.
That is what it was developed for, to fill in a 'hole' in our cam range
between the BP255 and RE13. Fitting a 266ss in an engine with a 7-port
on it is rather self-defeating for the reason of fitting a 7-port in the
first place. The RE13 was found to give the best road-manners for 7-port
equipped engines as it is quite tractable.

Cheers, Keith

Kieth I wish you had told me that when we where discussing my 7 port project, I would have ordered an RE13 instead.

That's what he told me.

2 things here from your OP.
The oiling up which is likely plug temp and possibly mapping.

Choice of cam is something you can live with. Its just not getting the most out of the 7 port. Setting your limiter to 5200 is not how the 7 port wants to work. It needs to rev. Set it to 7000 and let it go. I made a similar mistake, my cam is too soft but it goes well and it driveable just probably not giving me what the head is capable of.

In the next couple of years I will change cam and sort a couple of other bits out that need doing at the same time. Until then it's good fun as it is
