Nothing wrong with that. Just needs the limit reset and probably another couple of hours on the RR just to sweeten it up. Don't expect anymore torque out if it

It seems the moral to this story is by all means put on a 7 port head but put carbs on it too 👍
If set up properly, efi far surpasses carbs on this application. Problem is when the ecu and advice given by the manufacturer is garbage.

Think you've answered it there, rev limit way too low, 266 is very mild on a 5 porter never mind a 7 port.
Will get some CR6E plugs and try them, I also have some NGK CR7EIX 7385 iridium that I can try.
i spoke with Kieth about the cam and got it directly from him with matching cam followers
I built the engine myself.
Engine build is capability of circa. 100bhp at 7500rpm but as I’m running on the road I set the limiter to 5200rpm, I’m not chasing max power.
will look at fitting a lambda sensor
will look to see if there is a Delta specialist in my area
Run 7 plugs for years on my hot 5 porter 1380, tried 8's the last few weeks, work fine on the road.
Weren't you running the vintage mini set up with bike carbs?

When will the engine be ready to go?
It's unlikely to be this year, the block is currently having liners fitted.

Jenveys, and the Polestar ECU.

Interesting stuff chaps, keep it up. Interestingly my (cast) head was supplied with C7 plugs, but I’ll be using 6’s for first start and initial running. Also it was supplied without injectors and I was recommended 180’s, 1275, SW8, 10.5:1. Time will tell how it goes, not using the SC ecu.
Is the sw8 your choice? I mean was it suggested to you by the supplier

What valve sizes do you use?
Why should not anymore torque be expected? From what I have read, at several different places, the 5 port head is choked already at farely low rpm´s. Based on that, I would expect the 7 port head to be superial even at 5200rpm.

It’s my choice, reason being, it’s used everyday so I want a usable spread of power, it’s only 1275 so a SW10 would probably be too much. However, it’s the only part that I haven’t bought yet, so I’m following this discussion with interest.

It's the port sizes. They are oversized so air speed through the head is slower than a 5 port. With the cast head 90 ft/lbs ish seems to be about the limit where a decent 5 port can go past that. We are talking numbers on a dyno. As Cooperman often says, you probably wouldn't feel it on the road only see it round a racetrack. What valve sizes do you use?

It comes down to bang for your buck. If you buy the head and throttle bodies for say 3k or whatever it is,is that worth it over a fully worked 5 port head that cost 900 quid. No. Not for a tiny amount of increased performance over 6000 rpm

It's the first question I always ask is which camshaft.

So, what are the valve sizes you use/recommend (I am referering to the Pierce casted head) ?
