can anyone advise please 

i am trying to trace a mini i once owned 

it was A 1961 MINI MK 1 

REG NO 15 GYE

I have approached the d v l a  for info  an d they eventually got back to me 

this is what they said

the car details and reg number are private  and cannot be divulged

what does this mean

any advice or info on this much appreciated
