Should all models have the long bracket that sits under the fuel tank to support it? It's listed for all models but mine didn't have it not does the parts car I have here now.

Somerford Mini parts diagrams/lists say 1959 to 1975 for 14A 6867:-

Which is when the Mini saloon changed to the later larger fuel tank.

Only used on earlier cars that don't have the diagonal tank mounting strap. Late 5.5 gallon and all 7.5 gallon tanks have a diagonal strap and don't use the tank stand bracket.

Now ya tell me. On my 1978 I welded that support piece in. And then when it came time to fit the fuel tank I had a bit of a struggle. It's in there now and I hope to never take it back out. That will be some other poor guys issue.

Live and learn.
