Right then!

I've stripped the Corsa loom back after finding that I didn't have continuity on a few of the wires. I checked resistance from the plugs in the engine bay to the plugs at the ECU and a few of them have faults. I've looked for anything obvious, but can't see much. There are a few areas where the plastic loom casing is missing, so I'm guessing that the wires have been stressed or something.....

More to follow, but I'm wondering whether it's going to be easier to get a new loom. I'm just not confident that replacing small sections of wires will remove any potential future problems.

I think that I'm going to go for replacing the dodgy ones just to get it up and running and tested/taxed, then replace the whole loom in the future. I'm running out of patience with electrics now though! :D

Good luck with the electrics Matt!

Just out of curiosity, what's the passenger seat like?

Good bit of detective work there Mr Matt :D

Aslong as you can get it on the road then at least you can worry about tidying stuff up after

The passenger seat is well comfy, with lots of leg room.

I reckon that someone of your size (for example) could sit with their legs fully outstretched, even with mahoosive shoes on. In fact, I can sit in it with my legs outstretched! :D

:P :)

I may take some piccies of the passenger seating arrangement!

Another note: keep peepers open for an old school roofrack, me wanty, FACT! :D

Burble burble, bang bang, pop pop.....

"Jesus, that's loud"

"Jesus, Oh My God, it's running"

"I'd better turn it off and sort the inlet manifold out now"

That is all. :dontgetit:

Woohoo!! :dontgetit:

(Seeing as the passenger seat is taken, out of interest what are the back seats like? If not the boot? Again if not will the roof rack be padded?)

I don't know, I've got to weld the front end on yet!

Could slap the flip front on and take it down the back lanes bt my house, but that'd be illegal as it's got no MOT or tax.

Realistically, the test drive will be the 7 miles to the MOT station. :dontgetit:

As above, I would send it off and get the MOT done in the meantime, if you need tax and are wanting to get it on the road asap then read on

Unless you send off your log book with some supporting paperwork to confirm the engine size then you'll get it back with one of there letters asking for something along them lines, when you get your MOT and some paperwork (to support the above) then take the whole lot to your local dvla office and you can get your tax and they will send off all your paperwork for you but issue your disc there and then

I've just got the 'letter' through from dvla but when I called them as I need tax asap they said get your proof and your local office will issue your new tax and send off your paperwork for you

If you know all the above anyway then just report this post as abuse! :dontgetit:

:D
