What you mention is an interesting point. With the single circuit system, everything was OK but it's true that with the double circuit it's probably gonna block the wheel. Wait and see

I've just discovered that my gerabox is a 3 synchro and not a 4 synchro. The 1275 engine won't fit. So, I'll fit a 998 engine but with some modifications:
- probably a stage 2 or 3 cylinder head,
- cam kit
- big carb, etc.

So... to be continued!

Its probly not that - are you sure its not just because of the mounting for the gearbox linkage. As i noticed you're old one was a remote change and you're new one is rod. It shouldn't be too hard to make a bracket - the mounting position for the linkage's are very similar. If you didn't want to make a braket you could always put you're 1275 motor on top of the old gearbox - only thing you'll need to do its put a 1275 pre A+ primary gear on the end of the crank :)

Lovving this little beasty, keep up the good work :)

What I planned was to put the 1275 A+ on the old gearbox with remote change and with a 1275 pre A+ primary gear on the end of the crank. I have all that, but my gearbox is a 3 synchro and a friend told me that it could fit the engine only if my gearbox was a 4 synchro. So... I don't know what to think now.

You think it would fit?

i'm 99.99% sure it will be fine. Just check with some one else first - but i really cant see any reason at all why it wouldnt fit. I suggest you PM guessworks just to check

i think you have to modify the gearbox casing if its a early 3 sync.
the throw of the crank on a 1275 will hit the casing, later boxes were ground back for a bit more clearance

Hello everybody

As you know, I'm restoring my Mosquito, but I'm also looking for informations about Mosquitos and Triads. I want to create a database with all those models listed.

To help me in that mission, I've created a website, in French and in English about those cars.
I need your help. What I want you to do, is just to have a look at my website. If you know or if you have ever seen one of the cars in pictures, please, send me an email (see on the website). If you know someone that has a Mosquito or a Triad, please, let me know as well.

Any info or picture would be great.
Please, send that link to all the people you know and who could help me in my project.

Here is the link:

www.mosquito-triad.euro.st

Thank you very much. :P

As for the gearbox, the only realy way to tell is to put the block on the box and check it for clearance.... Yes the 1275 has a longer stroke than the 850 and 998 so yes there's a danger of it hitting something....

I also notice that it's a remote change, so had you thought of going for a 4 synchro remote ( which will fit ) or even to a later rod change ?

Hello,

I've updated my Mosquito and Triad website.
The address has changed now and is www.mosquito-triad.com

Please visit the link and send it to all your contacts interested in Minis, kit-cars or three wheelers.
It could help me a lot as I want to register all Mosquitos and Triads produced. (Only 19 cars!)

Thank you for your help,

Damien
