this propbly isn't relavent to this topic, but my rear subfram is knackerd, and i am tempted to put a beam kit on the rear, and put coil over kit on the front, with the coilovers on the front will i still need rubber cones on the front subframe?

nope, the coilovers have springs on them so the coil over kit completely replaces the need for the rubber cones.

sorry mate but no, i've never seen or touched one, I think someone else on here is doing one at the minute tho.

o ryt kool, im new to the forum, so dnt know many people on here, i plan on making mine track ready, so the coilovers would be a good idea i think, i was thinking of this 1 http://www.minispare...d...2&prod_id=2

I know this is an old topic, but thought I'd necro this rather than start another on the same subject. keeps things together. so anyway:

I'm looking at getting these coil spring conversions too (conversion, not over), but can't decide between the different ones available. It's for standard (fast;) road use, so already discounting the 'race/competition' types, there are still a few variants from stores.

Does anyone have experience with the various types, or can explain why some cost considerably more than others? mini-spares. for example are £261 but Huddersfield and plminishop are only around £150 (not inc hi-los). and not all mention whether they include the conversion plates or not.

I think I'm going to pick up the standard (black) ones from Huddersfield, decent price and they say they include the plates, too.

I have the fast road minitastic setup. Its probably more expensive than most, but I'm really not bothered - its not something I'd trust huddersfield's own brand cheapy stuff with!

the minitastic's aren't really much more than the plminishop and huddersfield's 'cheapy' springs, if their page can be deciphered correctly.

If you buy the 'fast road 4 coil springs only £188.00' will they fit with standard hi-los (I already have Mini Sport's Adjusta Ride set up), I assume that's what is meant by height adjuster, but why are they machined differently and the coils not just made to fit the standard equipment? this image also shows a polyethylene Insulator, are these included and what is is for?

the plastic ring goes on the spirng and sits in the groove on the rear subframe so it sits in the right place you dont get any for the front as theyre not needed. the hilos are apprently machined to fit so i dont know if standard hilos fit. ring them up and ask for some info if you need i think they have a demo car aswell that you can go out in

He's a great guy! We nipped down to see him a few months ago and I drove the demonstrator. (A very nice Japanese automatic). The ride is just unbelievable! So smooth!

He's recently moved the business, so was quite difficult to get hold of a little while ago, but the phone number is the correct one.


I bought the fast road kit and the height adjusters. The insulators are included, yeah. You also get a full fitting-guide with instructions and photos of how it all goes together.
