Yeah, i'm a shorter guy, so i can see out of the window fine! and no, rolling roads aren't too common around here, but Ken my boss knows his way around carbs so it runs nicely. Yeah, i'm super excited for spring to come here! and yes the harness is awesome haha.

Few pics, the finished trunk board, installed tow hooks, and the negative camber at the front.

Got a few numbers done up, for autocrossing this summer, they're magnetic, but not really that strong, might have to get them sorted, or redone. look nice though!!

That does look rather nice, I love the grille too, first time I've seen the van style one as a removable grille.

thanks to all for the nice comments. I believe across the pond you refer to it as auto slaloming? it's amateur racing on a large paved area, the track being set out with orange cones. wouldn't dream of off roading the mini! and yeah i'm really pleased with the grille, bit of a unique look!

Car looks great.

A look on youtube brings up autosrossing. I was thinking auto testing... but it's not that. Similar, just not as complicated.

Either way, car still looks good. Well done.

So, I've brought the mini home! got it registered yesterday, so today I put on the plate and brought her back. Throttle is still sticking, I believe I have to modify the pedal rod, it's a tad outta line with the cable, and I believe thats whats causing the issue. I also picked up a pair of minifin rear drums, and spacers, but the spacers are too thick, so i'll have to get some different ones at work tomorrow. It was really exciting to drive her again, bit of a pain to flick the throttle back before each shift though, still have to wait for all the snow to be gone before I can driver her regularily! heres some pictures, the ones of the shop are all the british bits we've brought out for our parts sale we're having tomorrow!

So I had to remake the rod for the throttle pedal, also lubed the cable, so finally it doesn't stick! Got 3/4" spacers for the minifins, so they're on, recentred the steering wheel aaaand the rubber covers for the pedals kept coming off, so I wrapped the pedals in grip tape instead. So now I'm ready for the gravel to be swept from the roads!

Been driving her for about two weeks now, just loving it, the carb float seems to stick occasionally, but i think thats sorted, and it's running a tad rich so i'll have to adjust the mixture soon. at 350 miles, once we hit 500, oil change, retourque the head, then i can start giving it full throttle and get the revs up a bit more. I have to raise is just a touch more at the front, as when there are two people in the car, it still scrapes slightly when turning. Also had a hell of the time with the passenger inside door pull coming off, a new screw clip sorted that out, i got quite good at getting the door panel off though! I'll have to get some pics of her soon, on the road!

You car is great! just read the last few pages.

On those Kirkey seats? how do you find living with them? are they as light as they claim? and would you recomend them?

It is a very light seat, never weighed it, but I could manuvere it very easily in the car and even easier out of it. I do have the foam cover for it, and it's actually not as tought to sit in as I thought, but it is definately harder than a regular seat. It holds you in really well though! they are quite slim, so larger people should make sure to try one out first. it's not the easiest thing to get in our out of either.

Did the 500 mile break-in service on saturday, retorqued the head, set the valves, oil change, tuned the carbs, and I also put new bearings in the alternator as they were quite noisy. Now I can give it the beans, I'm over the moon with the car, makes just the right noise at 5000 rpm, and pretty quick! A guy on a local car forum wanted to do a photoshoot with it, an E30 BMW joined in as well, so heres all those pics!
