Over the last year I’ve restored a 1990 Mini City E from a rusting MOT failure to a good looking daily drive. But apart from a chrome rocker cover donated from my old 1275 and an internal bonnet release, I haven’t done anything in the engine bay.
I know you can get all sorts of replacement bits for the engine bay to improve how it looks, such as SU covers, rocker nuts, coloured dipstick, silicone hoses, chrome caps. I’ve also seen a few cars with the owners favourite drink can cut up and wrapped around the coil.
My question to you all is this. How many of you have spent some time under your bonnet, not making the car go faster, not fixing something, but just making it look good under there so when you lift the lid people go wow! Have you done something different, added your own customisation?
I would be interested in seeing some pics if you have.
