well what does everyone think?

honnestly?

i love it BUT i think youve got to realise the sheer amount of strength your taking away in some places, deseaming a shell as many know can detract alot from its overall strength in the situation of an impact, to drill and lighten the subframe as well without a roll cage to preotect youself is madness :)

how old are you if you dont mind me asking?

youve got a hell of a lot of work ahead of you and i cant wait to see how it turns out, i have seen the reverse mount headlight mod done on a 50's Ford by Chip foose and it looks propper trick if done preoperly but aint half a b****rd when you need to remove or refit it (imagine getting your head inside the wing on a wet day once its built up to get it lined up and youll undertsand the probem)

Hi mate im 16 and the changing of the lights shouldnt be a problem as the garage at my mums is HUGE so it will be in there when its finished and this is only a track car so it wont be too big of a problem plus its having a VERY VERY structural roll cage fitted by my dad that will be fastened to the a/b pillars and subby mounts

another strange idea my dad had was that he was going to get a special company he knows to make me an alloy roll cage that will be stronger than some steels you can buy and it should be alot lighter aswell

hope that answers some of your questions

Hi mate im 15 and the changing of the lights shouldnt be a problem as the garage at my mums is HUGE so it will be in there when its finished

 in that case im even more impressed doing something to this extent at your age is damn impressive most (no offence to others) are out earning themselves an ASBO or two

its having a VERY VERY structural roll cage fitted that will be fastened to the a/b and c pillars

another strange idea my dad had was that he was going to get a special company he knows to make me an billet roll cage that will be stronger than some steels you can buy and it should be alot lighter aswell

Nice to hear it will have a cage BUT sorry to be negative here  but you have litterly NO chance of insuring this once you have passed your test i and many other have tried insuring cages and the insurers are simply giving a blank no they really dont like them for many reasons

Billet cage would be nice but would cost a mint

good luck with the progress its looking pretty good

looks quality with those wheels, and you have got to have your bonnet raised like that, its they way forward!

argh i should have deleted that picture lol, that was maybe, possibly, could have been how i was doing my paint

fair play to you though it looks wicked with the green!

wouldnt a billet cage be ridiculously heavy, or was it just going to be an ally cage made from tube? only down side i could see from that is you wont be able to weld it to the shell.

im not clued up on the cage but my dads said it will be lighter and hes ill now so cant really explain to me how and the bonnet deffinatly will be like that im glad you like my colour choice as i now can stop worrying about it looking to chav if that was even possible anyway

argh i should have deleted that picture lol, that was maybe, possibly, could have been how i was doing my paint :withstupid:

sorry about taking your car colour i should of asked really but im glad i took it as you could of said no lol lol :D :withstupid:

the only problem with the wheels is that there 12s when edd took his off and i put these on the front he and my dad asked if they were on properly as they stuck out to much lol does this seam quite right to you as alot of other people have said that they seem some how too wide for only 6" wide

i must add also its not a car ANYONE ELSE is paying for IM PAYING FOR EVERY SINGLE NUT AND BOLT except b day an crimbo pressies   :w00t:

hi i hope your not getting excited about this as ive managed to speak to my dad a bit today and hes said that its your roll cage or the respray  so unfortunatly the paint means more to me than the cage i should of varified eveything before i said i was getting it but as everyone knows when doing a project youve got to have some last minute re thinks right :w00t: so i will have to settle for the same cad drawing that ive got for the aluminiun cage but in metal and i will have to chop some more metal out to compensate for the heavier cage and because of this ive decided against the bill sollis style bulkhead as this also adds weight . god im getting picky now im sure if i lose some more weight and have a good log before i go out in the car i could have the bulkhead

ive started to remove the headlining rails tonight before it qwent dark but im unsure about the rail that is on the inside of the b pillar do/can i remove this as when i removed the rails there was a big hole going down tu the bottom and i think it will be better with it out imo :withstupid:

bummer. yeah man go for the paint it'll make the most difference to the car and y9ou can always sort the cage later once its driveable

but as everyone knows when doing a project youve got to have some last minute re thinks right

yeah for sure...

my amtes think im weight concious, your just mad ;D . im actuall thinking about cutting my cage out sometime soon(ish).
