a friend is getting his shell blasted for around £150 (by CBC i think) this seems cheap to me but its mates rates so no idea what it would be full whack.

get the yellow pages out and have a ring around.

ive got a bit more done today ive managed to remove the dash lower rail which i kept banging my head on when i was trying to remove the tar off the floor so i got MAAAAAD and so i got the grinder out ive noticed how long its taking me to remove panels that have a rivet edge to them ive been cutting the bulk of the panel off and then im left with just the bit that is spot welded on then i keep moving the grinder forwards and bachwards along this until its thin enopugh to be pulled off or it fall off is the corrct method ?

hope your all well

if your removing whole panels, its easiers to just drill the spot welds out (or around them depending on which type drill bit you have) then you can just clean up the edge thats left with a wire brush in the grinder, a lot less cutting and much easier.

yes thats the osrt of wire brush i meant, they are various ones liek that that are very similar, i found the flat one the best.

i have two spot weld cutters, one is like a tiny hole saw that cuts around it and the other is a drill bit but the cutting edges cut from the outside in if that makes sense.

the second one is the one i think your on about.

see SCREW FIX

good luck with the body work mate, all i can say is rather you than me :)

wow ben, you seem to have more of a metal removal fetish than me!

by the way i owned the car previously and sold it to ben!

it seems you have very similar ideas to what i had, before i got tired of all that filler and panelwork, infact after reading this i may try the frenched lights on my volvo tomorrow!

everyone is right though about the insurance problems! i'me having a nightmare trying to insure my volvo because of the airbags! the cage and wheels are going to be way too much for yee!

good luck though buddy and i will post the keys if i find them tomorrow!
