As some of you know when I attended the 2006 Mongol rally kent council decided that because someone had broken off my fuel cap, they were going to take my car away.

Then they charged me over £100 to get it back and brought it out to me on a fork lift truck with scratches craxked body kit missing parts (front grille and crystal rear lights were among the parts they had stolen)and a huge part of the rear passanger side wheel arch missing and smashed.

As you can imagen i was pretty unamused and proceeded to complain to Kent council. They have asked me to get quotes from 3 garages and I have done so. As I am now living in Marlborough (Near Swindon) Wiltshire the garages I have used are Sprayrite, Spray by Design and a guy called Vic who has worked of classic minis before and does great work but he mostly works on taxis.

The work I need carried out and payed for by council is:
1) new bodykit fitted
2) respray (Custome mix of House of Kolor paint-see pic of BMW for idea of colour and House of Kolor Pearl black bonnet with bodywork colored graphics)

Extra work to be carried out:
1) Rear Roll cage resprayed in same colour as body work (Custome mix of House of Kolor paint-see pic of BMW for idea of colour)
2) Custom dashboard resprayed in same colour as the bonnet (House of Kolor pearl black) Already have dash board
3) one of grille of my design to be built and fitted using mk1 grille moustache. (I dont want to pay £80 for one of these so if anyone has one cheap or know of one going cheap please please PM me urgently)
4) amp backing and front speakers to have plastic or metal behind sprayed in same colour as bodywork
5) X3 gauge pod to be mounted to headlining and sprayed in same colour as bonnet and dash
6) Black suade head lining to be installed
7) Custom door cards to be adapted to hold electric window switches
8) Spot lights and rear fog lights to be molded into bodywork
9) Custom rear lights of my design to be built and installed
10) Wheels sprayed in Black Satin (Already done)
11) Install black motorbike mirrors

New swtiched to bu installed in dash, I have 4 I got cheap but still need a couple more. (Denom Tweaks sell them but there pretty expensive. see pictures of swtiches)
Install 16v mini dash acewell 3915

ICE install
Touch screen DVD sat nav head unit wth Ipod connector (Already have, need to buy Ipod adaptor)
£30 in car Freeview
Slimline PS2 (already have)
(both freeview and PS2 in cutom dash glovebox, Ps2 on slide out shelf)
10" sub n back shelf (Already have)
640 watt amp (Already have)
x4 component under rear seat and x2 under dashboard. Rear x4's running of amp (Already have x2)
£10 rear view cam used as rear view mirror
Rear view mirror monitor

These are the pictures I currently have, I will add more up later. I am going for a show car look. My other project (the clubby estate,) will be my driving car.

I ill add more detail and updates as and when I have

edit, for beamer pic go to page 2. this will show you the colour i have choose for the respray

wow sounds like alot of work! but its going to be fantastic, really like the all black wheels too, look mint!

the council are absolute b*******, cheek of charging you over £100 to re-claim your car which should never have been taken away and to return it with damages as well. still i suppose you could look at it as a brilliant way and chance f getting any changes you wanted to do to the kod father with some expense spared

good luck mate keep us regularly updated

Thanks guys

really like the all black wheels too, look mint!

yes im really pleased with the look of them. It gives it a touring car look and really comliments the blue. should look really stunning with the new deeper blue color

these are the pics I sent the council showing the damage they caused when they took it.

I just went to the barn (where I store and work on my cars) and meant to take some more pics to put up for everyone. Note to self for the future, check camera batteries before I leave the house!

Yes its been a slow process but it shouldnt take much longer because most of the work is being caried out by professionals

I will get some more pictures soon. Will aslo try to get pictures of ice stuff, dash board, switches door cards etc

Note the rear lights. I still cant beleive they took off the £50 crystal rear lights and bothered to put standard ones on! Did they think I wouldnt notice?!

Fecking ijits. to be honest I would not have let them take it in the first place, but I don't know the circumstances you were in at the time.
Ar*seholes.
Main thing is, they are willing to pay for their 'up holding the law' policies, which is costing them dearly now. (Taxpayers money of course)
Hope you get it sorted soon as it is a well sweet mini.

I was in a 1000cc mini scamp at the time on the 2005 Mongol rally. So i was somewhere in europe, russia or kazakstan! not much I could do from there! The car was on a mate drive, he told them where i was but couldnt do nothing becasue he wasnt the registered keep or some rubbish they told me.

Hope you get it sorted soon as it is a well sweet mini.

cheers mate.

Ohh and my first idea from a custom grile came from this picture of a custom moggy. Ive now gone for big chrome flames as a grille to show off/reflect the deep blue paint more but i was orignally going to have a grille built like this one

lol not having much luck.

As for the indicators and sidelights, they look too big for a clubman, try a kit car or something like that.

it doesnt matter anymore. it was months ago. the guy asked if i knew what they were and i told him i thought they were off a clubman. the reason for posting the pictures was to show what i origanlly wanted for a grille. but now ive decided to go for chrome flames

Just got back from barn, I think the timing is now ok (Thanks Ryan- Bristolminiman) but possible fueling issue. It stalls straight away, any ideas? Im thinking of taking it to a rolling road just to get the thing running its getting on my nerves t hat much. 3 people trying help me get it started and still nothing! :dozing: it might be time to call / pay for the professionals.
anyone know someone with rolling road etc who can do it near Swindon? Someone said there was one in Sailsbury. Anyone know the name or of any others?
Cheers
