Ok I decided to get a new flywheel due to the teeth on mine being chewed and ended up getting a MED ultralite one. The backplate was really scored and I decided for the sake of £20 it was worth risking, I just got a standard from minispares.
Today I decided with the Mrs out I would weigh them (using her kitchen scales :) ) and the results have shocked me.
Original Backplate was 2.35kg and the new standard one was 2.1kg which I though was pretty good and should make some sort of difference.
Then I was well stunned when looking at the old and new flywheels.
Old standard flywheel was 6.9kg and the new MED one is just 4kg I was really surprised to say the least.
The new flywheel and backplate together weigh less than just the old flywheel at 6.1kg and overall its going to weigh 3.25kg less.
Its going to rev like a motorbike!!
just thought some of you might be interested.

About a second on the 1/4 mile

seriously that much difference thats huge!!!
cheapest second off a 1/4 mile per £ you can get pretty much excluding nitrous.

I dunno, I reckon I could do it much cheaper! If I were to lose about 6 stone, that'd shave a second off the 1/4 and I'd save some moolar on food! :D
