also how can i tell if my head (12g295) has been stage 2 tuned theres an engraving on it saying DH and theres also double valve springs on it could that be a clue?

lol looks like your a champ at something lolhers a pic of the rockers not very clear but anyone a guess in what type they are u can just see it saying keith dodd on them.

Stages mean nothing mate, there isn't any set of rules for what stages relate to. It's just what tuners use as a sort of shorthand for describing modifications. to be honest a 12G295 is better in it's standard form than most uprated normal 998 heads are when they have been made to stage 2 so there could have been nothing at all done to it. Do you need double valve springs? They are standard on the head when it is used on a Cooper 998 but you probably don't need them, modern springs are much much better than older types that used to commonly get doubled up. It is important that the chamber size has been reduced on the head as the standard size is far too big for you.
