Lets see, it looks like a late 2000 Cooper but it's in America so it's probably listed and registered as a 1964 Mini Cooper Mark 7 Deluxe Turbo Edition or some similar rubbish.

Oddly for a 2000 car it has black door mirrors on a red body. But they aren't just black plastic, they are painted black. If that was a common thing it's something I hadn't noticed 'till now.

Incidentally, the last Mini rolled down the line on the 4th of October 2000. Not 2001, and who up there thinks it's a 2003 car?

Oh, and Raz can like whoever she wants!

<Duh, just realised that it's a Cooper. It should have white mirrors, that's what looks odd.>

when were you in Vegas?

Its in a museum by the looks of it so it probably isnt even registered.

and someone who is from the UK can bring a car to America that doesnt meet the standards temporarily.

Temporary? Boo it was in a picture that was shot there in 2002 and is still there now. Temporary import usually means six months, 5 years is pushing it a bit.

:( got it! :ermm: lol

Looks like a 2000/2001 Classic Cooper Se with Classic Cooper Sport Se silver/black seats & steering wheel fitted

I didn't think it was that old... but... I've never watched the whole film! lol

Ryan :xxx:

Minis were last built October 2001 so if its any newer it must have been specially built for the film.

Then again to import it in to America do they not have to be an older Mini, 70s or earlier?

So maybe its a specially built one

I did'nt mean to write old.... I meant new. Thought it was like an R. But... like I said... never watched the film! lol

Another odd thing is, there's no side stripes like those in a Cooper. Although it had the Cooper laurel logo on each side, but no stripes...

I'm saying it'll be listed as the same year and model as those Cooper S' that were in the original REAL Italian Job!

Perhaps it's a special import? Because if you look at the car, in the movie, there's no license plate attached whatsoever!! (I knew this because I rewind the part where Charlize Theron ride in the Mini and go parking insanely a million times in my DVD... I love to look at the Mini... and Charlize... and the Mini... and Charlize...) :xxx:

They often detach number plates on cars for films.

There was two used for the film. One was registered and one wasn't. The unregistered one went on eBay a few months ago in this country as an unregistered car with near zero milage.

Think it sold for around £9,000.

As Rodders has spoiled the surprise and looked the car up, I'll tell all...

Attached File  vegas_mini_1.JPG   132.82K   4 downloads

Yep... it's listed as a 1963 Mini Cooper, complete with side repeaters, new-style grill, standard MkIII-on rear lights, single petrol tank, 12" (or maybe 13") Minilites, custom uphostelry and left-hand drive!

And it is for sale at one of the casinos for the low, low, get-it-now price of $59,500! That's somewhere around 29,000 of your English pounds!

Cheap at twice the price!

The car is registered to the studio that made the film... the registration document is on the windscreen, clearly listing it as a 1963 model!
