Its a looking rather good Dan.

I'm just building the oil pressure up, now the engine is in the car.

I've primed the cams, but it seems to be taking its time.

Hoping to turn the engine over maybe tonight.

Kind regards,

David

Good luck david, somehow I managed to get oil pressure just by spinning the engine with a socket on the end of the crank!

That first start is nerve racking to say the least!

Despite the awful weather i've been out today and actually made some decent progress.

I bolted up the front subframe so I could a: rest the front of the car on the frame and b: have a good reference point to weld the new floor into.

Then it was out with the angle grinder to cut the majority of the floor out.

Then drilled the spot welds to get the last bits out....

And packed it all up again for the night....I shall continue tomorrow!

that must have been scary chopping out all that lot! Good work!

Im considering doing the same job on my mini in the future.
I see you have done the front wheel arch panels first, is there any other panels to replace before you chop the floor out?

I'm intending to replace both inner wings although i've only done the drivers side so far, as I wasn't planning on cutting out the whole floor at the time I did that one.

You could do the floor and leave the inner wings in tact if you were careful.
